The buyer commits himself/ herself:

  1. to maintain and nourish the acquired animal correctly, to give it the right accommodation and not to abuse it or let others do so.

  2. to let the animal have daily sufficient run and play time and to give it a sufficient large cage (1 square meter/ 3 square feet per animal).

  3. not to give or sell the animal to a third person without written permission of the shelter operator.

  4. to let the shelter operator know of the loss of the animal in writing or by telephone within 3 days.

  5. to only let a veterinary surgeon put the animal to sleep should it become necessary for health reasons.

  6. if the animal is not used for breeding, the hob should be castrated and the jill should be spayed for health reasons.

  7. to return the animal to the shelter operator if the buyer cannot keep the obligation he took on any longer or doesn't want to.

  8. the shelter operator is entitled to go and see the animal to see what conditions it is kept in and to make sure it is kept well.

  9. if the buyer offends against the requirements and prohibitions of the protection contract, the shelter operator can reclaim the animal.
